Those jobs require small education and people with bachelor degrees rarely start at 25 an hour. This only drives up the cost of domestic vehicles which aren’t really good anyway. Nissan, Honda and Toyota make GM vehicles seem worthless.

Because the guys running the company (into the ground) need to make 20 million
The Japenese and Europeans make better cars. That’s a fact! If any of the big 3 made better cars I would buy.
But come on, a $30,000 GM/Ford/Chrysler vehicle loses more value over 3 years verses a $30,000 foreign car.
It’s not a good investment in a depriciating asset! Especially since cost of ownership is usually higher in the long run on an American car (including fuel economy, repairs, maintenance) and the loss in trade-in/resale value.
I’m speaking from experience. I remember back in the day my family bought a Dodge/Chrysler caravan. It was good for a while, and we had many problems. Eventually we had to replace the engine at 130k miles and right after that, the transmission went. When all this happened we were dependent on our 1987 Toyota corolla with 490k miles and a 1993 Honda Accord with 350k miles – both cars had the original powertrain parts (both cars leaked oil and transmission fluid due to aging – they needed new seals for the powertrain parts to fix that problem but we didn’t bother and they still ran fine.
My brother had a white 1996 Chrysler car (don’t remember the model name right now) it had numerous transmission problems. He had to replace the transmission twice before throwing it away after finding out he had to replace the transmission a third time – and that car had 141k miles when he gave up repairing it.
My family and I distrust American cars/SUV/trucks. These companies caused their own ruin! They’ve been in the business way longer than the foreigners so you’d think they should be making the best cars! But this is not the case.
